Geo-located design for Toronto's UP Express. A More Beautiful Journey!

We composed a piece for a geolocated installation in Toronto.

Using the "SoundWays" application and at the invitation of AMBJ, we accompany travellers on the train from the Toronto airport to the city (UP Express).

A More Beautiful Journey is transforming Toronto public transit. This custom augmented reality app offers riders generative, site-specific soundtracks for their commutes.

Through their smartphones, users experience ambient songs, soundscapes, and scores for TTC buses and streetcars. Sounds evolve in response to the shifting environment.

In honour of the centennial anniversary of the Toronto Transit Commission and Toronto’s Year of Public Art, the app is now available for free.
